This framework&nbsp;provides a comprehensive and integrated strategy for the growth of the&nbsp;education system. The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) is one of the significant&nbsp;aspects of the NEP curriculum. IKS encompasses diverse and rich heritage&nbsp;knowledge of India that covers various domains such as science and technology,&nbsp;literature, philosophy, culture, medicine (ayurveda), and yoga. NEP has focused&nbsp;on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary knowledge, and it can integrate the&nbsp;contemporary knowledge vested with IKS to address current and future&nbsp;challenges. The IKS covers the knowledge assets from the pre-historic to the&nbsp;current period. NEP fosters the creation of language resources and technology&nbsp;to facilitate the IKS as it recognizes its importance for disseminating&nbsp;indigenous knowledge. The integration of IKS with NEP will help to understand&nbsp;the underlying contemporary societal issues and to carry out further research&nbsp;on these issues. It will foster the growth and understanding of rich and&nbsp;diverse indigenous knowledge among various stakeholders and rejuvenate&nbsp;traditional knowledge with the help of modern technology.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt; line-height:107%;font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,sans-serif;color:#002060\">NEP envisions&nbsp;that HEIs take into account the local and global needs of the country, and with&nbsp;a respect for and deference to its rich diversity and culture. India, which was&nbsp;a leader of knowledge in the ancient times, must continue to be the torchbearer&nbsp;and knowledge leader in the coming future.
